This was written for Chorley FM – but I’m very much looking forward to chatting to Mel who I have known for years ever since we were involved in two charity productions to raise money for domestic violence.
She has done incredibly well and is a hugely inspiring voice for those who want to take up acting regardless of disability or personal situation. If you are interested in getting involved in Meladrama look up the website HERE
…………….
She’s currently starring in Channel 4’s Ackley Bridge, has an enviable back catalogue of work ranging from Bedsitcom to Emmerdale, and has penned and starred in one act play The Secret.
Not to mention she’s a very proud mum to son Leo, 10, who is a child actor and chip of the old block.
But Chorley-based Melanie Ash says one of her biggest achievements is all the students she has inspired and nurtured through her fully-inclusive acting school and agency Meladrama over the past 15 years..

She will be in conversation with Nicola Adam on Sunday (August 26) to discuss her journey as an actress, teacher and writer – and even Redcoat – and explain how an abusive childhood has made her the woman she is today.
Listen in to Lie in with Nicola from 9am until noon on 102.9 Chorley FM.
