Bringing sunshine..

It has been a huge weekend for the Visitor with our annual Sunshine awards and ball at the glam art-deco Midland Hotel in Morecambe. Always an emotional evening, it is a chance for the great and good of Morecambe to let down their hair and celebrate the people, businesses and organisations that make the place fab.

The first awards since the Eric Morecambe statue was returned to its rightful place after being vandalised and removed, the night raised money for the Morecambe Gets Wise appeal – to create a huge bronze plaque of the comedy pair and create a walk of fame, both lasting attractions for the town.

It was a glam night and preceded the weekend’s Morecambe Carnival.

A lot of work went into the ball, particularly by the Visitor’s Content Editor Greg Lambert who compered the event. He was a star!

The Midland was a great venue as always, adding a touch of grandeur to the occasion – so many thanks to the team there.,
