Is there a doctor on board?

So happy to be home after a squeaky-bum tiny propeller plane flight from Roanoke to Philadelphia then a delayed flight from Philly to Manchester – though of course I’m grateful (and quite amazed) to have finally arrived safely.

The plane was hit  by several long-winded mechanical problems, then was covered in a  layer of ice so thick we required industrial defrosting.

In other words, we had to sit in a long queue of planes iced up by the snowstorm to get on a defrosting pad – sort of like a microwave for planes – so we were an hour and half late before we even took off in pretty difficult conditions for the pilot.

Once airborne, a medical emergency saw the pilot asking if there was a doctor or other medical personnel on board after an elderly passenger suffered rocketing blood pressure.

Fortunately he was OK and the plane was able to continue to Manchester without any dramatic diversions.

I was lucky as well – the seat next to me was empty – so I was able to stretch out a little though sleep was impossible.

I used my time productively and finished a review of Philadelphia airport – click below

I also managed to start working on my Virginia review.. watch this space. Now I really need some sleep!
